Jaguar Park Nearly 100% Completed

The Jaguar Park in Tulum, Quintana Roo, is about to become a complete reality. This ambitious ecotourism project, initiated in 2022, is reaching its final stage and promises to be one of the region’s main attractions. With more than 1,000 hectares of protected natural area, the park not only seeks to preserve the local ecosystem, but also to promote sustainable tourism and provide a unique experience for visitors.

Project Highlights

Since its inception, Jaguar Park has experienced significant progress. In 2023, the first two stages were opened to the public, which included the construction of a 21.7 km perimeter fence to delimit the flora and fauna protection area. In addition, trails, sidewalks and access to the beach were created, as well as a 2 km bike path, including lighting and rest and service modules.

One of the most outstanding achievements is the rehabilitation of the old lighthouse, now transformed into a cultural lighthouse and a 19-meter lookout tower, from which the archaeological zone and the park’s beaches can be seen. A camp for researchers from the National Institute of Anthropology and History (INAH) was also built, strengthening research and conservation of the region’s rich cultural heritage.

Activities and Services for All

Parque del Jaguar offers a variety of activities and services that will make each visit an unforgettable experience. Visitors can enjoy tours of the archaeological zone, hiking, and panoramic views from the observation towers. In addition, a new access to the Tulum Archaeological Zone has been built, which includes administrative offices, an exhibition area, storage rooms, restrooms, Fonart store, Educal bookstore, cafeteria, and a terrace at the top.

For nature and outdoor enthusiasts, the park also has smoke kitchens, commercial modules, parking for bicycles and electric buses, and a system of planters that serves as a buffer to the vehicular traffic zone. All of this is complemented by the seven new public beach accesses, ensuring that everyone can enjoy the wonders of the Mexican Caribbean.

Future Expectations and Tourist Projection.

Parque del Jaguar is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2024. This project is expected to significantly boost tourism in the region, attracting thousands of visitors and generating a positive economic impact. The park’s connection to the Tren Maya and the Felipe Carrillo Puerto International Airport will facilitate access, promoting a steady flow of tourists interested in sustainable tourism and ecological conservation.

With these advances and services, the Jaguar Park is preparing to receive thousands of visitors, becoming a benchmark for sustainable tourism and ecological conservation in Mexico. Don’t miss the opportunity to visit this wonderful place and witness its final transformation!
